The focus of the NEMRC is to provide guidance, expertise, and practical solutions to public and private agencies and organizations that will help to improve community and individual disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. We believe in a fully inclusive approach to emergency management that takes into account all population segments and helps to empower individuals and communities. We work towards improving communication and coordination before, during, and after disasters among government, non-government, community based, and faith based organizations, and individuals within communities. We provide entities the tools needed to organize effective planning groups and plans, develop resources, exercise plans, create disaster education materials, strengthen business continuity plans, among other important activities.
